    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Sweet Little 7" Decorated Stoneware Jar.


    This is the work of Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9). 
     
    Circa 1870, this beauty features a Squared Rim and Ridged Shoulder, and Four Cobalt Leaves around the Middle.   All the decoration is executed in strong cobalt and really pops!  Stands 7" tall.

     


    Excellent Condition.  A narrow 1/2" chip above one leaf.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
