    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks it this wonderful Redware Folk Art Lion.  

     

    It was made by Lester Breininger of Robesonia, Pennsylvania in 1983 as signed on the bottom, "LB 1983."  Breininger was a maker of fine Redware in the old tradition.  This lion was patterned after some made a century before by John Bell of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.  

     

    This beauty features Elaborate Coleslaw Mane and Tail and a Glaze in Several Complementary Shades of Yellow and Brown.  Measures 9" long, 4" wide, and 8" tall.  

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
