Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 1 gallon pitcher made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who initialed the bottom "JB" 1987 with a Cross.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This piece is also signed on the bottom by "D. Friebely" currently known as Diana Card, the folk artist.  She created the Folk Art decoration on this pitcher.

This beauty features the a Classic 19th Century Pitcher Form, Pottery Stamp, and a Small Settlement with Three Houses, Three Trees, Flock of Sheep, and Fences All Around.  The decoration definitely classifies as folk art. The cobalt is brilliant! Stands 9" tall.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items (including the sign from the York, Maine pottery).

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of  any kind.
