Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this masterwork 1 gallon jar made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine."

It is the work of Jerry Beaumont who signed the bottom with the Cross and the date 1985.  In my humble opinion, Mr. Beaumont has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine was some of his finest.

This piece is also signed by D. F. This is Diana Friebely currently known as Diana Card, the folk artist.  She created the Folk Art decoration on this jar.

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, Bottom Signatures, and a fantastic Farm Scene with Sheep Grazing in Front of the House, Cows munching Before the Two Barns, and Center Windmill-- all Nestled in Rolling Hills Dotted by Trees and Another Farm in the Distance.   House with 15 Pane Windows and Shake Roof-- Flanked by Fencing and a Large Tree on Each Side.   Quite a piece of folk art!  Brilliant cobalt too!  Stands 11" tall.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items (including the sign from the York, Maine pottery).

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of  any kind.
