Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this masterful 1 gallon jar made and stamped by the "Beaumont Pottery, York, Maine" on the shoulder and inscribe on the bottom with a cross, initials "JB" and date of 1981.

This is the work of Jerry Beaumont whom I believe has been and continues to be one of the best contemporary potters in America today.  His work from York, Maine in the 1980's was some of his finest.

This beauty features a Classic 19th Century Pitcher Form, Pottery Stamp, Bottom Inscription, Brushed Cobalt Leaves on the Sides of the Spout, and a Gorgeous Bird on a Nest on the Front.  Great artistry and strong and shiny cobalt.  Stands 8" tall.

Comes from an extensive Massachusetts collection whose owner had personal ties to both the potter and the artist.  She gave me the privilege of buying this and many other Beaumont items (including the sign from the York, Maine pottery).

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
