Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute Little 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton, Bennington, VT."
 
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44).
 
This beauty sports a Small Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Signature Norton Decoration- a Brushed Cobalt Leaf.  Stands 11" tall.
 
Good Condition.  Minor nibbles around the spout, two horizontal lines in the handle, a 3/4" chip on the underside at the edge, and some staining from use.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
