Yellow Ware Seated Spaniel Dog Figural Doorstop with Rockingham Glaze

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare and wonderful Yellow Ware Seated Dog Figural Doorstop in Rockingham Glaze.

You can see similar doorstops in Lisa McAllister's, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book 2, p. 90 and Book 3, pp. 72. Those pictured are attributed to East Liverpool, Ohio in the 1860's and 1870's.

Dating to the 1860's, this beauty is a Seated Spaniel with Elaborate and Distinctive Fur. This is a better quality example, having separate forelegs and exquisite detail, mounted on a fancy base. Stands 10 3/4" tall, with a base that is 8 1/2" long and 5 1/2" wide.

Excellent Condition.  Some glaze chips in a short line on the top of the base on the left front which appear to be in the making (closeup) and one other 1/8" nibble on the base.  That's it!  No other chips, or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.

    Ships doubleboxed, insured, and FREE.
