Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Large Blue and White Spongeware Butter Crock.
Circa 1900, this beauty is about as large as these butter crock were ever made: 6 1/4" tall and 9 3/4" wide across the top. This example has very controlled sponged decoration in dark cobalt blue.
Good Condition. A 3" hairline from the rim to the left of "Butter" (closeup both sides), and four chips around the bottom edge (1/2" to 1 1/2"). No rim chips, stains, or restoration.
