Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher with Advertising.
Dating around 1900 to 1920, this beauty features a Tall Neck Dipped in Albany Slip, Molded Sea Shells Around the Shoulder, a Bulbous Body with Blue and White Sponging, and Advertising Below the Handle. The advertising reads, "Compliments of Harleg Furniture Co., 311 Broadway." 8 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the rim on the left side, a 3/16" flake on the top of the spout, and two 1/8" nibbles on the right side of the handle. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A glaze skip on the rim to the left of the spout and a kiln touch on top of the rim in the back-- both in the making.
