Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 1 Gallon Jar from Baltimore, Maryland.

The jar's form and decoration make a very likely attribution to David Parr who made stoneware in Baltimore, Maryland from 1815 to 1855 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).

Dating around 1830, this beauty features Profuse Freehand Cobalt Decoration all Around!  One side has three tulips amidst generous vining and the other side has two tulips with vining.  Additional cobalt accents at the handle terminals.  All the cobalt is strong and shiny on a light gray clay for maximum contrast.  Stands 9 7/8" tall.

Very Good Condition.  Two chips on the rim (3/8", 1 1/4"), and some chips around the footer.  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
