Coming to you from Doc's Crocks are these 3 Stoneware Mugs for 1 Money.
The center mug was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, NY. between 1890 to 1907 when they made blue and grey molded stoneware. It has two debossed cobalt stripes top and bottom that frame a border sporting the greek key pattern. In the middle is the word "Gesundheit". Stands 6 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Spot of wear by the "G" of Gesundheit. Manufacturing imperfections, with the drying/firing line around the base of the handle possibly also a hairline (closeup 1). Otherwise, as made. An 1/8" clay void on the rim in the making.
The mug or stein to the left also has two debossed cobalt stripes and they frame a border of dots. The lid sports two men and their dogs hunting rabbits on the top and one of those dogs pulling off a young lady's skirt on the underside. Dates to the late 19th century. Stands 5 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. The stoneware portion has a 1/4" chip at the base. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A repair to the pewter loop around the handle that holds the lid on (closeup 2).
The mug to the right is also by Whites Pottery of Utica. It features debossed cobalt stripes top and bottom that frame a ring of vertical dashes. Cobalt on the handle as well. Stands 4 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A couple of pinhead-size nibbles on the rim and base. Otherwise, as made.
