    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Spongeware 1/2 Gallon Pitcher.

     

    It was made and stamped on the bottom by the Uhl Pottery of Huntingburg, Indiana (Anna Mary Feldmeyer & Kara Holtzman, Uhl Pottery, 2nd ed., p. 25). 

     

    Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty has a Bulbous Base with Tall Neck and Pinched Spout, as well as Gorgeous Blue Sponging in a Starburst or Fireworks Pattern! This form and maker is a perennial favorite with collectors. Measures 7 1/2" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Fine, light glaze crazing of age.
