    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Master Ink Bottle made and stamped on the bottom by "E. H. Merrill Co., Akron, Ohio.


    This is the mark of E. H. Merrill, one of Ohio's earliest potters who worked in Springfield Township and Middlebury, Ohio in the 1830's to 1850's (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 30-33).


    This beauty features the Pour Spout, Ringed Shoulder, and Impressed Base.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.  


    Very Good Condition.  Three 1/4" chips near the bottom and a 3" faint hairline running horizontally in the groove 1/4" from the bottom.  No spout chips, stains, or restoration.
