Item 3221

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Yellow Ware North Wind Window Stop.

This window rest was used around 1810-1830 to hold windows open. The flat top is where the window rested. Few have survived the slamming down of the window and the falling on the floor or out the window when the window was raised.

This beauty is in the form of the North Wind.  It is wonderously molded with a flowing mustache to represent the wind.   Measures 4 1/4" Long, 3 1/4" wide, and 2 3/4" tall.

A similiar piece is found in Lisa McAllister, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book II, p. 17.

Excellent Condition.  Some scratches on top as would be expected. That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  What look like small chips or wear at the base are only glaze skips.
