• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Yellow Ware Resting Lion Window Stop.

This window rest was used around 1810-1830 to hold windows open. The flat back has a little molded tread on it where the window rested. Few have survived the slamming down of the window and the falling on the floor or out the window when the window was raised.

This Lion Look Quite Fierce!  Don't mess with his Window Settings!   Measures 4" Long, 3" wide, and 3 1/2" tall.

A similiar piece is found in Lisa McAllister, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book II, p. 17.

Very Good Condition. A 1/8" chip on the top right corner in the back, two small chips on the bottom of the left side (1/8", 3/16"), and glaze wear on the back of the head, nose, and around the bottom from use.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
