Offered to you by Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Yellow Ware Salt Crock with Lid.
It was part of the "Dandy Line" of kitchen stoneware made by the Brush McCoy Company in Zanesville, Ohio. This piece is discussed in Lisa McAllister and John Michel, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book I , on p. 73.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features Three White Slip Bands around the Middle with "Salt" Prominently Displayed on the Front. Retains its original lid. Measures 5 3/4" tall and wide.
Excellent Condition. A faint 2" surface-only line below the hanging hole not visible outside, and a 1/4" flake inside at the bottom. That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Two clay voids on the back below the hanger in the making.
