Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Mid-19th Century Yellow Ware Window Stop.
These were used to keep the window open while providing some decoration. As you can imagine most were broken from being smashed by the window coming down on them to hard, or by falling out the window if they were not secure as the window went up.
This beauty features the form of a Lady with a Tight Hairdo with Tread on the Top for the Window to Rest Upon. Flow Rockingham Glaze. Stands 4 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single 1/2" chip inside that is partly the tripod mark from the kiln. Otherwise as made.
