Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Yellow Ware Butter Crock. It was part of the "Dandy Line" of the Brush McCoy Company in Zanesville, Ohio.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features Three White Slip Bands around the Middle with "Butter" Prominently Displayed. Measures 5 1/4" tall and 7 1/4" wide.
It comes with an original lid for this size and in this set, but the color is lighter.
This piece is pictured in Lisa McAllister and John Michel, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book I, on p. 83.
Good Condition. The base has a 3" super fine hairline from the rim on the left side (closeup). The lid has two chips on the top edge (3/4", 1"), a small chip on the underside of the top edge (1/4"), and a chip on the outer edge of the seating on the underside (1 1/4"). Otherwise both pieces are as made.
