Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Molasses/Syrup Jug made and stamped by the "Wm. E. Warner, Manufactory, West Troy."
This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) from 1836-1839 (private research)
This beauty sports a Clear Pottery Stamp and Rich Albany Slip Glaze with Darker Streaking. You can see the fingertips of both hands of the potter in the glaze on the bottom of the jug from where he dipped the jug in the Albany slip. Stands 9" tall
Excellent Condition. Some shallow, narrow sliver chips on the underside around the edge. That's it! No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
