Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Molasses Jug made and stamped by "WM. E. Warner, Manufactory, West Troy."
This is the mark of William E. Warner who ran a pottery in West Troy, N.Y. in the 1840's and 1850's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 67-68).
This beauty features a Tall and Narrow Form with Pour Spout, Impressed Pottery Stamp and Capacity Number, and Attractive Albany Slip Glaze with a Pretty Stiped Effect. Handsome early piece. Stands 14" tall.
Very Good Condition with Restoration. The back half of the spout and the handle have been professionally restored (closeup). Otherwise as made.
