Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Owl Pitcher marked on the bottom as "Brush Pottery."
This is the mark of the Brush Pottery (formerly Brush-McCoy until 1925). It was part of their "Wise Birds" Line introduced in 1927. It was advertised as "A New Line of 'Purse-Openers' for Every Store Everywhere." The original ad and the pieces in this line are pictured above (Martha and Steve Sanford, The Guide to Brush-McCoy Pottery, pp. 8, 124-125)
