This is the work of William Leet Hamilton and James Hamilton who worked together in Beaver, Pennsylvania from 1841-1852 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp, 131-33).
This beauty features the Ovoid Form, Thick Rim, Pottery Stamp, and a Vine with Three Large Fuchsia Across the Front. The cobalt is rich and artistically rendered. Additional cobalt at the handle terminals. Stands 16" tall.
Excellent Condition. Three flat chips inside the rim (1/4" to 3/4"), and a 1" flat chip on the underside at the edge. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A superficial firing line at the base in the making from a piece of straw in the clay (closeup).
