Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Whites Utica, N.Y."
This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
This beauty features a Small Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Cute Little Birdie Perched on a Branch Anchored to a Stump. A very sweet little jar. Stands 9" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 1 3/4" chip on the rim in the back and a 3/4" chip on the underside at the edge on the right side. No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 1/2" chip on the rim in the back and a stone ping on the right side- both in the making.
