Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Lidded Ale Stein.
It was made by Whites of Utica, New York in the period of 1890 to 1907 when they made their popular molded blue and gray stoneware.
This beauty features a Man Raising his Stein in a Toast and a Man Sitting down Enjoying his Stein while He Smokes. Both cartouches are framed by hops and barley. A Greek key decoration adorns the rim and leaves decorate the base. A serpent provides the handle. Hinged metal lid.
Excellent Condition. The stoneware portion is as made. No damage of any kind. The flat portion of the lid has been resoldered to the hinge portion at the seam between the two.
