Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Whites Utica."
This is a mark of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Parrot Perched on a Stump Decoration. This was one of Whites signature decorations. Its simplicity is only rivaled by its beauty. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A small stain on the right side, and two minor nibbles on the base (1/8", 3/16"). That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Slight indentation on the right side from kiln furniture in the making.
