Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "West Troy Pottery, N.Y."
This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) used from 1843 to 1871 (private research)
Circa 1880, this beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large Bird on a Branch Decoration. The birdie is facing left and proudly displays his long beak and flowing feathers. A dotted branch supports his frolick. Strong cobalt blue. Measures 11 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble inside the rim, a 1/4" chip on the left handle and bottom edge, and some moderate staining from use. No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
