Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "West Troy, N.Y. Pottery."
This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) from 1843 to 1871 (private research)
Circa 1880, this beauty sports the Pottery Stamp and a Large Bird on a Branch Executed with a Slip Cup. Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10 1/4" wide across the top.
Good Condition. Two lines on the exterior only: 1 1/2" on the front rim to the right (closeup 1) and 3 1/2" on the back (closeup 2). Glaze wear below the decoration and overall staining from use. No inner rim or base chips, or restoration. Part of a salt drip has come off on the front rim to the left.
