Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this sweet little 1 Gallon Stoneware crock made for the merchant "Walter S. Stanley, Rochester, N.H."
The decoration is very reminiscent of that of the New York Stoneaware Company of Fort Edward, N.Y.
Made around 1880, this crock featuers a Cute 1 Gallon Size, Impressed Merchant Advertising with Cobalt Fill, and a Gorgeous Bluebird on a Branch Decoration. Measures just 7 1/4" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A chip on the top of the left handle and two vertical 2" surface craze lines (bird breast, back center left). That's it! No rim or base spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Shallow 1 1/2" drying line inside in the making.
As you know, 1 Gallon Crocks with bird decorations are tough to find. This one has been in a fellow dealer's kitchen for many years.
