Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware Jug that reads: "Little Brown Jug" in Fancy Script.
This beauty is the work of Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick who ran their pottery together in Anna, Illinois from 1859 to 1890.
Dating between 1870 and 1890, this beauty has a bulbous form, tooled spout and footer, and strap handle. The "Little Brown Jug" is incised in very fancy script characteristic of this pottery. Stands 4 1/4" tall to the top of the spout.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the heel in the back. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. An 1/8" kiln touch on the front in the making.
