    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "W. Hart, Ogdensburgh."


    This is the mark of William Hart who ran the family pottery in Ogdensburgh from 1858 until he died in 1869 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 74-75).


    This beauty sports a Beehive Form, Clear Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Left-Leaning Floral in Bright Cobalt Blue.  Stands 13" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  A faint surface-only 3" vertical glaze line on the back below the handle (closeup) and a narrowing 2" chip on the bottom edge of the left side. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
