Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 8" Stoneware Jar that reads, "From W. D. Cooper & Bro., No. 7 Diamond, Pittsburgh."
Cooper was a Grocer in Pittsburgh in the late-19th century who ordered a lot of stoneware from the potteries of Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
Dating about 1880, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Rim and Five Lines of Crisp and Strong Stenciled Advertising Framed at the Top by 3 Stripes and at the Bottom by 1 Stripe. Stands 8" tall.
Very Good Condition. A very faint X on the right side with 4" an 3" arms (closeup). I can just barely see the longer one inside and cannot see the shorter one inside at all. No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
