Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this most unusual Christmas Tree Stand made and Embossed on the Bottom by the "U. S. Stoneware Co. Akron, O. Pat. Pend."

The U.S. Stoneware Company made stoneware in Akron from 1892 to 1966 (F. Robert Treichler, More History of Ohio Stoneware, pp. 27-31).

Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a Dome Shape with Interior Hollow Ring to Hold the Base of the Tree, Raised Center to Hold the Tree Steady, and a Side Hole for Attaching a Large Screw.  The company advertising is embossed on the bottom.  Measures 6 3/4" tall and 12 1/4" wide across the base.

Excellent Condition.  Two 1/2" chips on the base.  That's it!  No top or interior chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  What look like hairlines at the base are firing lines and the horizontal one is a clay fold-  all in the making (closeup).

If you like Ohio stoneware or have an antique (or new) Christmas tree you want to display, this is ideal for you!
