    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Early 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Tyler & Dillon, Albany."


    This is the mark of Moses Tyler and Charles Dillon who worked together in Albany, New York from 1825-1834 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 67). 


    This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 14 1/4" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  Some chips:  1/8" inside the spout, 3/8" on the handle, two on the shoulder in the back (1/2", 1"), and two at the base (5/8", 3/4").  Some semi-circular glaze lines around the shoulder with one raised a bit (closeup), and staining from use. No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
