    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Little 7 1/8" Decorated Stoneware Jar made and stamed by "R. C. R., Phila."

    This is the work of Richard C. Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9). 
    Circa 1870, this beauty features the Carefully Tooled Rim and Shoulder, the Company Pottery Stamp near the Base, and Four Units of Comma Vining.  All the decoration is executed in strong cobalt.  Stands 7 1/8" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  Small nibbles (1/8" or less) around the outside of the rim.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A very clean example!
