Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Thomas Chollar, Cortland"
Thomas Chollar worked in Cortland, New York with Joseph Darby from 1839-1849 and this jug was made at the beginning or end of that period (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 71).
This beauty sports an Early Ovoid Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bold Brushed Cobalt Plant on Ground Cover. Stands 13" tall.
Excellent Condition. Modest surface wear. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
