Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Wax Sealer Canning Jar with Cherries.

This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).

Dating around 1870, this beauty is the small 6 7/8" size with Wax Sealer Form, Tooled Rim, and a Cluster of Three Cherries Hanging from a Branch with Two Leaves.  The stencil is complete and not smudged.

Comes from an old-time Ohio collection.

Very Good Condition.   Honest wear and small nibbles around the inside with one 1/4" chip, three chips on the bottom of the tooled rim in the back (1/4" to 3/4"), and some surface wear.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.

An exceptional small Hamilton and Jones wax sealer seldom seen on the market today.
