Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Spongeware Pitcher from about 1900.
This beauty has Two Pluses: Unusual Size and Controlled Sponging. The pitcher is taller and wider than most hallboys- 7 1/2" tall and 5 3/4" wide. The sponging is created in 10 vertical rows and also going down into the inside 1". Stronger blue on one side than the other.
Excellent Condition. Glaze wear on the very tip of the spout, and a minor 1/8" nick at the base. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 3/8" straw void on the footer in the making where straw in the clay burned away in the firing process.
