    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Preserve Jar. 


    The decoration indicates that this jar was made by Asa Smith and his Cousin, Noah Day, who worked in Norwalk, Connecticut from 1843-1849 ( William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 58-60).


    This beauty features a Brushed Cobalt Tulip with 5 Leaves and a Blossom with 8 Petals.  Nice small size and simple decoration.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.


    Very Good Condition.  A 3/8" flake on the rim in the back, a 1" narrow chip on the right side at the bottom in the kiln furniture mark, and a 1/2" chip/stone ping to the right of the decoration.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
