Item 1945
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Decorated Cream Pot.
The decoration indicates that this piece was made by "Moore, Nichols, & Co., Williamsport, PA." This pair made stoneware from 1877 to 1879 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 62-63).
See the picture from this pottery above that is stamped and sports this floral. I also bought this jar just a few miles from Williamsport.
This beauty features an Ovoid Cream Pot Form with Broad Rim, and a Double Brushed Tulip with Two Blossoms and Eight Leaves. Measures 8 3/4" tall and 9" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 7/8" chip on the rim on the front left, and a narrow 1/2" chip on the back bottom. That's it! No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The bottom is lightly convex in the making.
