Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "F. Stetzenmeyer and G. Goetzman."

This is the mark of Frederick Stetzenmeyer who ran his pottery in Rochester from 1849 to about 1860, and for a period partnered with a grocer named G. Goetzman (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).

This beauty sports the Stetzenmeyer and Goetzman potter's mark and an Exquisitely Detailed Tulip Executed Artistically with a Slip Cup. The Tulip has 6 leaves and a blossom with 5 petals.  All the decoration is accented with stripes for a 3-D effect. The coloring is superb. Stands 15" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Very light staining from use. That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A 1/4" clay void above one small leaf in the making.
