Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "F. Stetzenmeyer and G. Goetzman, Rochester, N.Y."
This is the mark of Frederick Stetzenmeyer who ran his pottery in Rochester from 1849 to about 1860, often with the cooperation of G. Goetzman, a local grocer.
This beauty sports the Stetzenmeyer-Goetzman maker's mark with cobalt wash and old lid. All the cobalt is executed artistically with a slip cup. All the decoration is accented with stripes. Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A 1 1/2" hairline from the rim to the handle on the right side (closeup). That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Six small chips around the outside edge of the lid (1/8" to 1/4")
