• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by the "Somerset Potters Works."


    This pottery was located in Somerset, Massachusetts and operated by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).


    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash Framed by Dotted Loops, and Three Leaves with Ground Cover Crossed to Frame Some Dots and Squiggles.  All the decoration was executed with a slip cup in strong cobalt.   Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10" wide across the top.


    Very Good Condition.  Water glass staining inside and some small stains outside.  A narrow 1" chip inside and six chips outside the rim (1/8' to 1/2").  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
