• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeoous 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by the "Somerset Potters Works."


    This pottery was located in Somerset, Massachusetts and operated by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).


    This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Triple Leaf Pattern Executed with a Slip Cup in Bold Cobalt.  The leaves have a stem, squiggle stem, and dotted centers.  Stands 10 3/4" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  Three flat chips on top of the spout (1/8" to 1/2"), a 3/4" chip on the underside near the edge in the back, and some light staining from use.  A 1/2" clay flip on the top of the handle in the making.
