• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeoous 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by the "Somerset Potters Works."


    This pottery was located in Somerset, Massachusetts and operated by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).


    This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and Two Eucalyptus Leaves Crossed to Frame Some Dots and Squiggles.  All the decoration was executed with a slip cup in strong cobalt.   Stands 11" tall.


    Excellent Condition.  1/4" chips on the spout: one inside, one on top of the spout, and three on the right side. Four contiguous small glaze flakes near the bottom of the right side.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
