Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Somerset Potters' Works."
This pottery was located in Somerset, Massachusetts and run by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).
This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Delicate Double Flower Executed with a Slip Cup. Lots of dots and dashes! Stands 14 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Some chips around the spout as shown, and some minor chips on a clay fold on the bottom edge (closeup). No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
