Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and Uncommon 4 Gallon Cream Pot made and stamped by "S. Johnson & Son, Beaver, PA."

This is the stamp of Socrates Johnson who made pottery with his son in Beaver Pennsylvania in the 1860's and 1870's.  They had a limited production lasting under 10 years before it looks like they switched to roofing tile or stove pipes (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 137).

This beauty features a Cream Pot Form with Canted Sides, Rolled Rim, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Triple Brushed Cobalt Tulip Coming in from the Left and Moving in all Directions.  Measures 12 1/2" tall and 11 1/2" wide across the top.  Two chips on the left handle (1/2", 1"), a chip on the right handle (1/2"), and a small stain on the back.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
