Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Little 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Sipe, Nichols & Co., Williamsport, Pa."

 

This is the stamp of William Sipe, Joe Nichols, and Abram Young who ran the pottery on Market Street from 1875-1879 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 62-63).

 

This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Brushed Cobalt Steeple Flower with Elaborate Stem and Blossom.  Stands 8 3/4" tall.

 

Very Good Condition.  A 5/8" chip on the rim on the left side, a 1" ping chip on the bottom of the right side, and a faint "Y" on the bottom with a couple 1" lines up the side that does not go through.  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
