    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Batter Jug made and stamped by "Sipe, Nichols & Co., Williamsport, Pa."


    This is the stamp of William Sipe, Joe Nichols, and Abram Young who ran the pottery on Market Street from 1875-1879 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 62-63).


    This beauty features a Leaf Under the Spout with a Standing Tulip on Each Side of the Spout on the Front, and a Pottery Stamp and Standing Flower Below it on the Back.  Original bail handle.  Stands 9 3/4" tall. 


    Excellent Condition.  About 10 small chips/nibbles on the outside of the rim (1/8" to 1/4"), a 1/4" ping line and 1/2" chip inside the spout, and a 1/2" ping line on the bottom handle.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
