    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher made and stamped by "P. Hermann."


    This is the stamp of Peter Hermann who made pottery on Eager Street in Baltimore from 1850-1872 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 98).  


    This beauty features a Tall Rim and Bulbous Body, Three Cobalt Leaves around the Rim, the Pottery Stamp by the Handle, and a Floral Across the Front.  The floral has 5 leaves and a blossom with 5 petals.  Stands 10 1/4" tall.


    Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the left side of the spout that is partly from an airpocket giving way, and heavy chipping on the base, mainly on the underside.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
