Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Lidded Stoneware Salt Jar.
It was made by the Sherwood Brothers of New Brighton, Pennsylvania.
Dating around 1900, this beauty features Top and Bottom Blue and White Stripes that Frame the "Salt" Label in the Middle. The lid has a blue stripe trim around the edge. Stands 6 1/2" to the top of the lid.
Excellent Condition. The base has a 1/4" chip on the inner rim, and four small chips (1/8" to 1/4") and minor nibbles on the outside of the rim. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has a 3/8" chip and minor nibbles on the bottom edge. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A glaze chip and drying line by the knob in the making.
